AGE: Depending on where you take the countries age from, it can vary. Normally, people use the first mention of the country in historical context, which was in 1009, making him 1010 as of February 2019. Physically, Lithuania doesn't age past 19.
BACKGROUND: This is a sort of long, personally collected history, but the most relevant link of all is right here! The canon wiki, though in APH everything in human history technically happened in canon. So sometimes real historical incidents or relationships not mentioned in the series are relevant to relationships, etc. Just as much information as I can put, for transparency's sake!

PERSONALITY:

A word to describe Lithuania at a glance is average. Brown hair, blue eyes, average height. He has a polite demeanor, a friendly face. He's a pretty normal young man...who is actually older than 1,000, a personified nation, and who is friendly with a whale and an alien.

Still, it's not a wholly incorrect assumption. Lithuania is a polite person, very mild-mannered and agreeable. Lithuania's a nice guy and easy to mesh with, and though Lithuania is a bit on the introverted side, he's quite popular in his own right, just because people tend to have a fondness for him. Despite this, Lithuania is quite a negative person, just in a passive way. Nervousness, anxiety, worry, concern all consume him -- and who can blame him? Lithuania carries a lot of history and trauma with him, and he's very aware of certain realities about being a country. He'll continuously fret and fluster about something, enough to cause him great stress and probably an ulcer or two. Lithuania is always thinking about something, whether it's his own safety, someone else's, or even something as mundane as whether or not he's going to be late to an appointment.

Because of this concernment, Lithuania has a tendency to take care of and try to do what he can for those he does let into his heart. He likes to take care of those he cherishes too, unafraid of taking on more than his share of the work, though it's something he doesn't necessarily choose for himself sometimes and he might complain about it a little along the way. He does find enjoyment and fulfillment in it, though, as seen with taking care of the laid back America after World War I. The number of people Lithuania cares for is quite exclusive, as well. He's on decent terms with most other countries, but his friendship and loyalty is actually quite rare. This makes him sometimes more elusive and desirable to other countries, like Russia. His Baltic "brothers" often feel scorned that he spends more time with people like Poland rather than his "family," and that's coming from people who he does associate with more than others.

It's perhaps because of this introversion that he can be sort of odd and oblivious. Lithuania can be bad at reading a room, usually when it involves how other perceive him or situations involving him. He had no idea Belarus hated him, even though he had quite a thing for her. He's flippant about America's fears and need for comfort when at his home. He doesn't seem to notice a lot of Estonia or Latvia's concern or desire to spend time with him. He doesn't understand why some might think it's weird he can communicate with America's pet whale (it doesn't even make sense by Hetalia standards, honestly), or that he has a movie date with an alien. He's had fingers broken, and all Lithuania does is make up an oblivious and deluded excuse for why they are that way. It may have to do with how he takes things very literally -- facts are facts, etc. It's also why he's not the best with jokes and other nuances.

Lithuania gets frustrated by people quite often, be it Poland, the other Baltics, Russia -- but anger is something he reserves for very scant occasions. Lithuania is used to having to hold things in. He vents and rants to himself, but doesn't truly explode unless he's really pushed to the edge. His patience is extraordinary when it comes to the bizarre and ridiculous antics that Poland puts him through, or the extended abuse and mistreatment brought upon him by Russia. If someone does something dumb or illogical, his freakouts will come from a place of concern. Think "how could you put yourself in danger like this?" vs. "why would you do something so fucking dumb?"

It's also important to note that Lithuania has certainly changed over time. Once upon a time, Lithuania was one of the most powerful people in Europe -- a brilliant military mind, incredibly gifted in combat and half of the most powerful union in the are at that time. Since then, Lithuania has been split apart, losing all independence that he had, and only just recently has regained it. This has made him easy to take advantage of and walk all over in the past, and there are certain traces of this demeanor still left within him. Right now, if you put both extremes on a spectrum, Lithuania would be closer to the latter, not the former. But, the road to growing confident and strong is still one that he's traveling down, and just because he doesn't have the opportunity to show his strength in recent years doesn't mean that it is lost.

POWERS/ABILITIES:

As per the Hetalia standard, it's extremely hard to kill a country and he can't really die. They have a high pain tolerance, both by nature of their existence and also via being alive for hundreds or thousands of years, going through wars and violence along the way. Otherwise, countries don't really have a lot of magic or froufrou abilities to describe. They don't age, rarely die or disappear -- that's about it.

Battle wise, he's pretty adept at sword fighting and has a peaking interest in martial arts. The swordplay he's fallen out of touch with, but it's kind of like riding a bike: not too hard to get the hang of once you pick one up again. What he lacks in recent practice he makes up for in his fighting spirit and battle prowess. Martial arts, wise, he wouldn't have more than a basic understanding of the fundamentals; more book smart than physically strong with it, though he can throw a pretty good punch. Harry Potter wise, this will transfer over as being a decent dueler.
